Limited liability. Corporations, limited liability associations, and other certain types of the business organisations protect the owners from bankruptcy, being engaged in commerce at the separate legal body with certain legal protection. On the contrary, not corporate firms or the people working independently, usually so are not protected.

Tax advantages. Various structures are considered differently in the tax right, and can have advantages for this reason.

Disclosing and consent requirements. Various business structures can have obligations to inform the public (or to inform the corresponding authorities), and also to carry out various rules and instructions.

Many firms operate through the separate legal body, such as the corporation, the limited association or the company with limited liability. The majority of legal jurisdiction allows people to organise such legal body, registering certain charter documents in the corresponding organisations and to carry out of certain other proceeding obligations. Relations and the legal rights of the shareholders, the limited partners, or participants partially charter documents, and partially jurisdiction laws where the legal body is organised operate. Nothing, shareholders in corporation and participants in the companies with limited liability are protected from personal responsibility for debts and obligations of the legal person which is legally considered as separate "person". It means, that own property of the owner is insistently protected by the law if business does not succeed.

There, where two or more persons have business together, but were unable organise more specialised form of a vehicle, them will consider as association with unlimited responsibility. Association terms the agreement on association, and partially jurisdiction laws where the association is located partially operates. No documents or registration are necessary to create association.

The unique person who has the right to operate business, is usually known as the individual owner, whether belongs to it or to it it is direct or through formally organised legal body.
